Here's just a quick scan preview page of my one-shot doujinshi entitled "Star Fruit." It's obviously unfinished, but I thought I'd give curious eyes a look anyway.
I'm actually having fun drawing the one-shot, since it is quite a bit faster to draw than is SoC; the template that I work on is half the size, and I go ahead and draw the lines and bubbles in, to kind of get closer to the grassroots. Nevertheless, I'm frustrated because I haven't really had much time to put in the number of comic pages I wanted this week, and it's getting me worried that I won't finish the comic in time for Fanime. I may have to start getting insane like I did for LNSD if I ever want to have a chance. The stakes are not as high, but I can't step down from a good challenge.
In the meantime, I'm trying to update as faithfully as I can to SoC; each page takes ridiculous amounts of time, and you can be drawing forever and not really get anywhere; so that's frustrating. I was hoping to get my SoC squared away for this weekend, since I'll be down visiting my parents, but it looks like that's not going to happen, especially since I have an oil change to contend with at 8:00 am Saturday morning. Two hours past and I'm only a third done with the drawing and inking? What's wrong with me? Why do I draw so slowly?!
Needless to say, I'm frustrated. But other than that, all is well. No wait, my cat has run off, and if it doesn't get back by the time I leave for San Diego tomorrow, it'll have to enjoy the weekend outside. That's a little worrisome.
